Moto3,
Moto2, and MotoGP form motorcycle racing’s version of a development ladder,
similar to F1’s junior categories. Moto3 uses lightweight 250cc
single-cylinder bikes; Moto2 steps up to more powerful, standardized engines;
MotoGP features the fastest, most technologically advanced prototype
motorcycles in the sport. Nearly every current MotoGP rider progressed
through this exact three-tier system.
